Test Preparation Software Helps Students Pass State Tests,
Parents Stay Involved
First Retail Product Customized For All 50 States
RENTON, WASH., June 1, 2006 – TOPICS Entertainment today announced State Standards, the first retail test preparation software that provides students with customized testing for all 50 states and gives parents the knowledge to help their child succeed on state tests.
“State Standards allows parents to understand their children’s proficiencies and get them the help they need to succeed on critical tests that define their educational experience in today’s world,” said Peter Dublin, Ed. D. “By practicing with this product, your children will be prepared for the all-important tests that determine their educational future.”
Customizable To All 50 States
State Standards was developed by education testing experts to address each state’s standardized tests for third through eighth grades. The tests offer an engaging, in-depth assessment of a student’s language arts, mathematics and reading proficiency.
State Standards creates customized tests from hundreds of multiple-choice questions based on each student’s home state’s standards. Two test styles allow students to either take a complete test that provides realistic practice and diagnoses problem areas, or a targeted test that customizes questions around specific subjects and skills where the most assistance is needed.
Since studies have shown that practicing for tests with the same question types will yield higher scores, State Standards includes the same types of questions that students will encounter on state tests and more than 50 hours of practice in mandatory test subjects.
Helps Parents Stay Involved
Today’s parents are looking for a solution to an age-old problem – how can I help my child do better in school? State Standards makes it easy for parents to stay involved by providing everything they need to understand and help their child succeed on state tests. Parents can print out progress-monitoring reports to diagnose problem areas and use when talking to teachers about where their child needs more help.
Parents also can read advice to help instruct their child such as the Dos and Don’ts of test taking, test taking tips, and an explanation of the No Child Left Behind Act and how it has influenced testing and state standards.
Availability and Pricing
Available in August 2006, State Standards is offered for third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades. MSRP $29.95.
